Obituary For Abraham "Avraam" Stephanides

Peabody โ€“ Abraham โ€œAvraamโ€ Stephanides 69, died on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Giannitsa, Greece, he was the son of the late Theodoros and Anastasia (Porgiazidis) Stefanides. He emigrated to the United States on March 12, 1964, settling in Peabody where he had resided for many years. Avraam was a graduate of Peabody High school where he excelled as a football player on the Peabody High football team.

He had been employed for over forty years in the family business, Super Seven Sub and Pizza in Lynn until the time of his retirement. Active in martial arts, Avraam was a third-degree black belt in Judo. He was a loving brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brothers, Dimitrios and his partner, Efrosini, John and his wife, Irene, Charlie and his late wife, Panagiota, Lazaros and his wife, Dimitra, and Vasilios and his wife, Stacie, a sister-in-law, Debbie and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was also the brother of the late Stephen.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held at St. Vasilios Church, 5 Paleologos St., Peabody, Monday, January 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Burial in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos St., Peabody, MA 01960.
