Obituary For Alberto Antuñano

Alberto Antuñano, age 80, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 6, 2022. Mr. Antuñano was born in Lima, Peru on January 5, 1942. He was the son of the late Telesforo and Obdulia (Valdez) Antuñano.

Alberto played baseball with Fukushima representing his home country of Peru, worked his whole life as a successful entrepreneurial salesman most notably for Lugon, and was a professional singer accompanying his friends “El Trio Fantasia” and then performed as a solo artist throughout the Greater Boston Area as “Don Alberto Valdez”. Alberto also served a term as President of the “Hermandad del Señor de los Milagros”, was a fond member of his beloved “Tercera Cuadrilla” and was appointed to sing the Peruvian National anthem for many years at Boston City Hall on Peruvian Independence Day.

Mr. Antuñano was the devoted husband of Renee (Medina) Antuñano. He was the loving father of Luis Alberto (Berto) Antuñano, devoted grandfather of Violet Veronica Antuñano, and brother of the late Julio, Pepe, Nina, and Juana Antuñano.

Arrangements: Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 4-7 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. All attendees are required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
