Obituary For Alfred J. Sauvageau

Alfred J. Sauvageau, 82. Of Peabody, died peacefully at his residence on Thursday, June 30, 2022 with his family at his side. He was the devoted husband of 47 years to Caroline (DeCourcy) Sauvageau. Alfred was born in St. Anne de Bellvue, Quebec, Canada on February 1, 1940, the son of the late William and Marie L. (Meloche) Sauvageau and moved with his family to Peabody MA where he has resided for the past 70 years. Alfred was a skilled Backkoe driver and owned and operated with his son, Richard Kee the Sauvageau Construction Company in Peabody for 30 years prior to his retirement. Alfred had many construction and excavation projects in Salem and in Peabody helping his good friend, the late John Karamas. Alfred proudly served two terms as a combat engineer with the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed going fishing at Plum Island, riding his motorcycle and camping in New Hampshire beaches and mountains. He will be remembered as a kind, quiet gentleman who would help anyone in need at any time.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline of Peabody, his sons, Richard M and Daniel J. Kee both of Peabody, a daughter, Nicole Marie Sauvageau of Miami, FL, his adopted sons, David R. Burnett of Maine and Edward Burnett of MA, his step daughters, Dulcenia Reynolds Walker and Doris Reynolda Ellis, his siblings, Emile and his wife Joyce Sauvageau of Danvers, and Lauretta M Silva of Peabody, his precious nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late William J. Sauvageau and the brother of the late, Gustave,, Serge, Alphonse, Lisa and Lucie Sauvageau and Claire Carey.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 12:00 until 1:00 PM with a service at 1 pm at the Conway,Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
