Obituary For Aliano Garcia

Aliano “Olegario” Garcia 90, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 peacefully at home with his daughter by his side. Everyone close to him knew that behind his tough exterior was a kind, gentle, and warm-hearted man who was loved by so many.

He was born in Paradela de Muces, Leon, Spain to his parents Severino Garcia & Encarnacion Macias. He served several years in the Spanish army, which taught him the value of discipline and hard work that he was well known for. In search for better opportunities, he boarded a boat to the Dominican Republic to begin a new life. There, he met the love of his life, Margarita Argentina, where they started their family and he became a butcher by trade. He and Margarita both agreed that moving to the United States would be the best decision for their family. In 1972, they moved to the United States with their family and settled in Peabody, MA. While in Peabody, he built a career at a leather factory near their home. In 1983, he and his wife decided once again that it was time to move for the betterment of their family, and returned to Dominican Republic, where he pursued his 2nd true love – farming. He lived that dream for many years, traveling back and forth to visit his children & their families in the United States until returning permanently in 2015.

He is survived by his wife, his children, Margarita, Brenda (Rolando), and Fausto, his siblings, Arturo, Milagros, Encarnita, Hermelinda, Mercedes, Milagros and Arturo & their children, his grandchildren Anthony, Lynette (Doug), Melissa (Wilbert), Monique, Christina, Alex, Steven, Christopher, Gamaliel, and Tiffany, and his great-grandchildren Audrina Maria, Yaliel & Sebastian. He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Anibal & Albertina, and his daughter Maria.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. His funeral will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, 17 Chestnut St., Peabody, Friday, October 1, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Those attending are asked to meet directly at church. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
