Obituary For Anastasia Diminture
Peabody - Anastasia (Tilas) Diminture, 91, of Rockledge, Florida and formerly of Peabody, MA, died peacefully surrounded by her family on February 19, 2023.
She was the devoted wife of the late John Diminture with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. She was born January 30, 1932 and raised in Peabody, the youngest daughter of the late Angelo and Helen (Kalavritinos) Tilas. She was a graduate of Peabody High School class of 1951. She was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Church in Peabody and had been active in their Philoptochos Athena group.
Anastasia was known for her generosity, her witty humor, and her love of socializing with her family and friends. She made everyone feel at-home when they walked into her house, and you never left with an empty stomach! She was never short on conversation and made a friend wherever she went. What she often said about others was true about her… “She was a good soul”.
She was the proud mother of seven children; her daughter, Eve and husband, Ted Carrick of Cocoa FL, son, John and wife, Yuan Diminture of St. Cloud FL, son, Gregory Diminture of Rockledge FL, daughter, Helene and her late husband, John Rogers of St. Augustine, FL, daughter, Stacey and husband, James Yavorski of Georgetown, MA, daughter, Stephanie and husband, James Warren of Peabody, MA, and son, Thomas and wife, Lisa Diminture of San Antonio, TX. She was also a “YiaYia” to her cherished grandchildren, Tricia (Carrick) Antonucci, the late James Carrick, Stacy Diminture, Alexis (Rogers) Silva, John & Thomas Rogers, Sophia (Yavorski) Contant, Bryant & Vanessa Yavorski, Alaina (Warren) Smith, Michael Warren, Anthony, Nicholas, Troy, Thomas, Dylan, & Sierra Diminture. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren. She was sister-in-law to Pauline Tilas of Peabody and pre-deceased by her brothers, sisters and their spouses, Charlie & Angie Mirageas, William & Marga Mirageas, Christos & Mary Tillas, Nicholas Tilas, Stephen Tilas, Georgia & James Maihos, Ann & Samuel Sakelakos. She had many adored nieces, nephews, and family friends, too numerous to list.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos St., Peabody, Friday, March 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church.
