Andris Aivars “Andy” Poncius, age 85 of Peabody and Edina, MN. Born on February 4, 1936 in Valmiera, Latvia, he passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021.

Andy played football for Iowa State University, served in the United States Air Force, was a Shriner and retired from Control Data as an Industrial Engineer.

Survived by wife, Claire; step-daughter, Jodi (Dave) Comeau and their children, Corinne and Casey; Andy’s children, Karl (Kim) Poncius, Kristin (Brandon) Grether, Andrea (Bob) Barbknecht and Erik (Tonia) Poncius; grandchildren, Ryan (Marcy), Kameron, Sonja, Kayla, Alyssa, Anna, Luke, Hunter and Gerrit; He was preceded in death by first his wife, Beverly; parents, Karlis and Martis and brother, Juris.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral services were held privately by his family. Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
