Obituary For Anne M. (Dowler) Murphy

Anne Marion (Dowler) Murphy, Age 90, recently of Danvers, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Brightview Senior Living in Danvers. She was the loving wife of the late James J. Murphy with whom she shared 47 years of marriage prior to his passing in October 2000.

Born in Newton, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna M. (Grogan) Dowler.

Anne graduated from Cambridge Latin High School in 1950. She received an Associate Degree from Middlesex Community College. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for pharmaceutical company.

Anne enjoyed square dancing, skiing, camping, sailing and playing cards with her late husband, friends and sons. She was an avid reader. After retirement, Anne and her late husband enjoyed traveling in their RV. They eventually, traveled to Marathon, Florida to enjoy the warm winter weather.

Later in her life she enjoyed crossword puzzles and coloring.

Anne is survived by her son James Joseph Murphy and his wife Deborah-rae (LeBel) Murphy of Lynn, MA. Also survived by her 3 grandchildren Ryann-elizabeth and her husband Charles Hudson of Lynn, Mackenzie-rae Murphy of Lynn, MA and Rian Murphy son of her late son Brian of Scottsdale, Arizona, her sister-in-law Rita Dowler, brother-in-law Paul Murphy and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, her parents and son, Anne was predeceased by her brothers Edward and William Dowler.

Arrangements: Her funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anne may be made to Brightview of Danvers (Memory Care unit), 50 Endicott St., Danvers MA 01923.
