Billy, Jenn and families, For much of my youth, your family was my family. After meeting your dad, I knew 'gentle giants' actually existed. My memories of him over the past 42 years are so fond and I just feel so blessed to have known him. The two of you, however, are the real winners. To have the privilege of calling that man "Dad" is an enormous gift...supportive, loving, giving and ever-present, a man like no other. Try to find peace in knowing your parents are back in each other's arms after a long ache apart and they are smiling down on the amazing family they created. Covid keeps me from saying these words to you in person, but as always, please know my heart has never left your sides. My prayers for strength go out to each of you in this terribly sad time. As the days move forward and the absence of his presence seems too much to bear, I pray that your thoughts of him bring you the feeling of warm hugs and lots of smiles, as I have always felt myself when thinking of him. Rest in true peace, Mr. Gulla...you were absolutely one of a kind. 🙏🏼 ~Erin Higgins

Jen, Billy, and families, So sorry to hear about your dad. They say a smile can change someone's day and I still remember looking forward to your dad's friendly greeting at our field hockey games. Years later it was in the restaurant or at grandkids' sporting events. You are in our thoughts! Jill and Kevin Houlden

"Mr. Gulla" was one of a kind <3 I skated with Jen for many years at the Town Line Twin Rinks in the 1980's and he could be found watching Jen skate with so much pride or walking in the rafters above the ice helping to hang lights for the show. I have so many loving and fond memories at Lake Placid, at the Gulla household, etc...he will be truly missed Much love, Jenn DeRoche-Licciardi
