Peabody – Antonio B. “Tony” Santos 83, beloved husband of Delminda (Ataide) Santos, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Luz, Graciosa, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose and Lucia (Cunha) Santos. He emigrated to this country in 1968 settling in Peabody where he has since resided.

Mr. Santos had been employed for thirty two years as a machine operator for the Bicknell & Fuller Paper Box Company in Peabody until the time of his retirement in 2001.

Dedicated to his faith, Mr. Santos was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Society, Our Lady of Help and the Banda Recreativa de Peabody. He was a loving husband, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife with whom he shared fifty eight years of marriage, he is survived by a sister-in-law, Maria Espirito Santos of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Maria Bettencourt, Adalgisa da Silva, Lourdes Gregorio, Zulmira Bettencourt and Manuel Santos.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
