Obituary For Arthur Buendia
Arthur Buendia, 58, of Peabody, died Monday evening at his home surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Janice (Cameron) Buendia with whom he shared over 25 years of marriage,
Born in Chelsea, he was the son of the late Louis and Aurora (Sanchez) Buendia. He was raised and educated in Tewksbury and graduated from Shawsheen Technical High School, class of 1982. He later continued his education at North Adams State College and received his degree in 1989. He has lived in Peabody for the last 25 years.
Arthur was employed for over 30 years as an revenue analyst with MassHealth for the state of Massachusetts. Art was also a part-time Uber Driver which he started to do for his kid’s tuition money but turned into a really fun hobby. He enjoyed meeting new people and talking to them, and he was often requested as their driver.
The family also hosted exchange students from many different countries over the years. Learning about other countries and their cultures was very important to Art to expose his children to. He has stayed in touch with several students, and many have come back to visit.
Art had a reputation for being the guy to turn to if you needed help with anything. He would give the shirt off his back to someone in need.
Arthur enjoyed watching all of Boston’s professional sports teams, grilling in his backyard, had a love of animals, but his favorite activity was spending time with his family and friends and enjoying each other’s company. He will be dearly missed by all.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his three children, Alejandro, Luisa, and Jeffrey Buendia, all of Peabody, his two brothers, Louis Buendia, Jr and his wife June of Tewksbury, and Victor and his wife Denise of North Andover, his five sisters, Maria and Martha Buendia, both of Wilmington, Rosemary Brown and her husband Leon of North Carolina, Aurora Iliadis and her husband Savvas of Everett, and Laura Patricia Calderas and her husband Alfredo of Florida, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
