Obituary For Arthur Norman Doyle

Arthur Norman Doyle, 92, of Peabody, died peacefully on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the Brudnick Center in Peabody with his family by his side.  He was the devoted husband of 64 years to Barbara A. (Bourgoin) Doyle.  He was born in Lynn, MA on January 5, 1929, the son of the late Martin P. and Caroline (Smith) Doyle and had resided in Peabody all of his life.  He was a graduate of Peabody High School class of 1946, where he was an outstanding baseball pitcher. He was also a graduate of Merrimack College.

Arthur proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954.  He retired from the Key Polymer Corporation where he held the position of Plant Manager. Arthur was a member of the Leo Council Knights of Columbus #508 of Peabody where he enjoyed participating in the bowling league and taking part in their many charitable events. Arthur maintained a beautiful backyard garden and grew his green lawn to perfection.

 Arthur served as a Board Member of the Council on Aging and enjoyed many years of parties, activities, and camaraderie at the Peabody Senior Center, and was a popular member of the Forever Young Chorus. Above all else, Arthur’s most precious time was spent being surrounded by and traveling with his family.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of Peabody, and four children, including Karen Doyle and her partner, Robert Sikora of Arlington, MA, Kathleen MacMillan and her husband John of Wakefield, MA, Kevin Doyle of Los Angeles, CA, and Kristine McDonald and her husband Thomas of Grafton, MA. Arthur cherished his four grandchildren, Amanda and Ryan MacMillan and Thomas and Samuel McDonald. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Tully.  

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn St., Peabody from 10:00 until 11:30 AM with Services there at 11:30 A.M.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.  Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Peabody Senior Center, 75 Central St., Peabody, MA. 01960 in his memory.   For guest book, visit www.ccbfuneral.com
