Peabody – Barbara S. (Santos) Osterstuck 71, died Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Manuel D. and Barbara J. (Weidell) Santos. She was raised in Peabody and received her education in the Peabody school system.

Mrs. Osterstuck had been employed for many years as a nurse’s aide at many different facilities in the North Shore area, most recently at the Ledgewood Nursing Home in Beverly.

Barbara had a great love for animals, especially cats. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, riding her bicycle, camping and travelling to Florida and New Hampshire. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friends who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Dawn Marie Shaw and her husband, John of Haverhill, two grandchildren, Angela Marie Lenker of Derry, NH and Sean Eric Shaw of Rowley, two great grandchildren, Declan Boaz Lenker and Emma Jane Shaw, three brothers, Ronald Santos of Magnolia, Michael Santos of Salem and Jimmy “Buckey” Santos of Salem, NH and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Mary Jean Stanley, Debbie Santos, Kathleen Horrigan and Robin Carlson.

ARRANGEMENTS: A visiting hour will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
