Carol was my lovely neighbor in Peabody, Ma. She lived across the street on 2 Page St. She would bake me her wonderful Greek cookies. After ten years I moved to Swampscott, Ma. and then to Henderson. Nevada, where I have resided for 26 years. I always think of Carol and her kind, warm friendship; May she Rest In Peace. As a friend of Tina's, I met Carol in 1990 while living on Longstreet Rd in Peabody. I kinda got the "side eye" from her at first meeting, but DANG could she cook! Years later moving to San Francisco and with a little help from Tina, my partner and I reaped the rewards of Carol's AMAZING holiday baked goods. This went on for at least a decade, I honestly lost count. She made the best baklava, to this day, I've ever tasted. The topper, and I still have no idea what they were, I simply referred to them as "the heroin cookies" to Tina because they were BEYOND addictive! Tina always seemed to manage to grab a few extra for me in this annual holiday bundle of love from Carol. The love that went into creating those holiday treats were felt across the country and always gave my partner and I a sense of belonging and connection that I'm not sure she was even aware of. Our hearts go out to Tina, Sean and the rest of the family.

Thank you Thia Popi (my special aunt) for many fond memories - walks, Christmas cards (with a $25 check every year), good and enlightening conversations (especially about the Red Sox). Much love and light. John Kefalas
