Obituary For Catherine "Kay" Decoulos

Peabody –Catherine “Kay” (Panias) Decoulos, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2022. She spent her last days with her beloved family. Born in Lynn, MA she was the daughter of the late Anastasios and Sophie (Kereakides) Panias. Kay moved to Peabody where she raised her family.

She began her career as a licensed hair stylist. She then worked at Citicorp Mortgage in sales of mortgages and she trained mortgage brokers in Essex and Middlesex Counties, and NH areas. She was in the National Mortgage Presidents club and worked for Century 21 showcase of homes in Burlington MA for ten years as a Real Estate broker in sales, and 20 years as sales manager. Kay also volunteered at Haven for Hunger in Peabody MA for 20 years. Her greatest joy was her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Black and her husband, Richard. Her grandchildren, John and his fiancé, Maggie, Jenna and her husband, Justin, Nicole and her fiancé, Cody, Frank, Brenna, Kelly and Mike. Her great-grandchildren, Kyle, Connor, Brady, Cody, Finley, Holten and Patrick. She also leaves her beloved nieces and nephews, family and friends. Kay was predeceased by John N Decoulos, her son, Nicholas J Decoulos, her twin brother, Charles Panias and her sisters, Helen Dallas, Helen Panias, and Cynthia Panias.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos St., Peabody, Monday, December 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.     Kay was a dedicated mom and a devoted yiayia. Her family came first and she adored her children and grandchildren. God has another angel by his side.

    Although she was not my grandmother, she made me feel that way whenever I was lucky enough to spend time with her.... I'm going to miss her.
