Claire B. Caton of Peabody, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late John W. Caton, her husband of 55 years. Claire was born in Boston in 1927 to the late James and Sarah (Driscoll) Dargon. She was raised in Boston and attended local schools. Claire worked in retail part time and dedicated much of her life to raising her family and enjoying time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed tennis, dancing and sewing in her free time. Claire was a woman of strong faith and a devoted Catholic. She is survived by her brother, Jack Dargon and his wife, Ann. She leaves behind her children Helen (Bonnie) Caton, John Caton, James Caton, Mary F Norwood and her husband Bruce and Michael Caton. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Joseph Blanchard and his wife Stephanie, Christopher Caton and his wife Marilyn, Stephen Caton and Kelsey Norwood and her great grandchildren Adelina and Jack Blanchard and James Caton. She is predeceased by her siblings Rita Vaughn, Francis Dargon, Gertrude Longval, James Dargon, Joan Vaughan and her grandson Timothy Caton. She is dearly missed by her family and her many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her happy and cheerful devotion to them. A funeral mass will be held, Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 9:00 AM at The Church of Saint Paul Parish, 50 Union St. South Hamilton, MA 01982. Burial will take place at Hamilton Cemetery.
