Obituary For David E. Johnston Sr.

Peabody – David E. Johnston Sr., 81, died Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by his family.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late John and Blanche E. (Morin) Tripp. A dedicated and passionate builder and carpenter, Mr. Johnston owned and operated Johnston Construction Company, Inc. in West Peabody since 1980, working right up to the time of his illness.

A resident of Peabody for over fifty years, he enjoyed his dogs, taking walks and most of all, spending time with his family. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving him are two sons, Adam H. Johnston of Peabody and David E. Johnston Jr. and his wife, Linda of North Andover and a grandson, Kyle D. Johnston of North Andover. He was also the brother of the late Jane Morin.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held from the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Friday at 12:15 p.m. followed by a graveside service at the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody at 1:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Contributions may be made in his memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923 or the Lung Cancer Research Foundation, 155 East 55th St., Ste. 6E, New York, NY 10022.
