Obituary For David H. Pote

Lynnfield – David H. Pote 78, died unexpectedly on Wedensday, December 1, 2021 at his home.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Dorothy (Slate) Pote. He received his education in the Lynnfield school system and graduated from Lynnfield High School, class of 1961. He continued his education at East Coast Aero Tech in Lexington, class of 1971.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served two tours of duty during the Vietnam Era as a member of the United States Air Force, serving from 1962 to 1970.

Mr. Pote had been employed for twenty-six years as a mechanic for the U.S. Postal Service until the time of his retirement in 2006. Prior to that he had worked in aircraft maintenance for Consultants and Designers.

A resident of Lynnfield for most of his life, David was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2366 in Saugus, the American Legion Post 131 in Lynnfield, the D.A.V. Chapter 37 in Reading and the Elks Lodge 1276 in Wakefield. He was a loving brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother, Robert L. Pote of Mt. Vernon, IN, a niece, Kathy Sigle and her husband, Alan of Rockport, ME and two nephews, Michael Pote and his wife, Gretta of Carmel, IN and Dan Pote and his wife, Francine of Chandler, AZ.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Friday, December 10, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery, Lynnfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701.
