Obituary For David P. Strangie

Apopka, FL – David P. Strangie 54, beloved husband of Laurie (Melville) Strangie, passed away peacefully Monday, June 28, 2021 at the Advent Health Hospital in Florida following a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Robert V. and Mary (Marotta) Strangie. He received his education in the Somerville school system.

David was the proud owner of Superior Services OC, Inc. in Florida for the past twenty years. David had a desired passion for cooking and always making people laugh. He had a huge interest in classic cars. He loved spending time with his family and friends in New England.

David had a positive energy and a larger-than-life personality that touched and motivated everyone he encountered. He always wanted to lend a helping hand.

A resident of Florida since 2001 and prior to that in Peabody, he was a loving husband, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Laurie whom he shared 17 years of marriage, he is survived by a sister, Joanne Frias and her husband Armindo Frias of Hudson, MA and two brothers, Robert Strangie and Richard Strangie of Hudson, nieces, Krystal Frias-DeSouza, Lauren Frias and Sarah Strangie, nephews, Steven Frias and Robby Strangie, several cousins, and his longtime best friend James Saraiva of Swampscott.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody, Friday, July 2, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.

    Dave was a dear friend & an even finer fellow New Englander. I will genuinely miss his friendship & the love we shared for New England sports and high performance cars.
