Dean was like a father to me, the one I deserved. He had the biggest heart of any man or chef I've ever met. I know he's in the best place listening to stones and telling whoever he's around about how he saw them here or there. Asking them how they are and listening closely so that he may help them in whatever way he can. We should all try to listen like Deano, and care how he did. I miss him greatly and know one day when I see him again he'll be standing there with a smirk on his face and a silly joke to make me laugh. Deano's legacy will live on in his children and every chef who has ever worked for him. He made it known that to be a chef, you don't have to be a jerk. You can be a friend and take the time to listen and give advice, no matter the problem.

Dean was such a great man and always a pleasure to talk with, usually when he got out of work, he would come down to the "common area" at the complex that we had both lived in for quite a few years. His smile will be greatly missed
