Dr. Edward “Ed” P. Dancewicz, 82, longtime resident of Lynn and Georgetown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Brightview of Danvers. He was born in Lynn on October 19, 1940 and was the cherished son of the late Helen (Ziejmisz) and Edward L. Dancewicz.

He completed his undergraduate at Tufts University and his medical schooling at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. Ed specialized in dermatology, and after having practiced many years in his offices in Reading and Billerica, he retired in 2007. His favorite past time was dining out with friends and family, and traveling to casinos. He never missed a medical convention and connecting with colleagues to share experiences. Ed was an avid reader and kept up with the latest in medicine through his membership in the American Medical Association of Dermatologists.
In May of 1969, Ed was commissioned by President Lyndon B. Johnson as Assistant Surgeon in the Reserve Corps Public Health Service of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare.
He was a life-long member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish until its closing and served on the Parish Council for many years. He was past President of the Polish National Alliance, Lodge 630; President of Council 59 PNA, and member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans, Post 56.
