Obituary For Edna H Porcello

Edna H (Trask) Porcello of Peabody, passed away on June 14,2022 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington following a brief illness.

She was born and raised in Beverly to the late Charles and Helen Trask. She met her husband, Anthony R Porcello on the Beverly-Salem Bridge leading to a marriage that lasted 64 years until his death in 2017.

Edna had brief jobs at Campbells Funeral Home and Sylvania before settling in as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Edna loved most animals (except snakes) and took great delight in watching all the wildlife found in Peabody. Edna also liked to read and do crossword puzzles. She was a great baker, known for making cakes and cookies from scratch. Her favorite artist was Johnny Mathis. Every concert he played at the North Shore Music Theatre was sure to include Edna in the audience.

She took over her son’s paper route for a number of years. This was a special delight as Edna loved to socialize. If anyone was out while she walked the route, she had to converse. She retained her route until the birth of her beloved granddaughter, Keeley.

Later in life, she loved to go to McDonalds with her husband to have coffee and chat to anyone who would stop and have a conversation. She looked forward to Sundays when her Grand-dog Chloe would come to visit.

Edna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony R Porcello.

She leaves four daughters, Phyliss Mowrey, Leah Porcello, Susan Porcello, all of Peabody, Arleen Passanisi and her husband Sal, of Windham NH, her cherished granddaughter Keeley Porcello of Salem as well as two sons, Anthony Porcello of Florida and Robert Porcello of Marblehead. She also leaves her sister Norma Ronan of North Carolina, her dear friend, Barbara Adams of Peabody and many, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Trask and her sister, Eva Theriault.

Per Edna’s request, there will be no viewing nor service. Burial will be private. Donations in her name may be made to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem MA 01970.
