Beverly – Elaine M. (O’Connell) Mahoney 92, beloved wife of the late David E. Mahoney, died Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Boston and raised in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Helen (Lynch) O’Connell. She received her education in the Arlington school system and graduated from Arlington High School, class of 1948. She continued her education earning a bachelor's degree from Boston University, class of 1952 where she was a member of the Phi Beta Phi Sorority.

Mrs. Mahoney had been employed for many years as a receptionist for the dental office of Doctors Carbone and Gilbride in Beverly until the time of her retirement.

A longtime resident of Beverly, she was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Beverly and was a member of St. Mary’s Sodality. She was also a member of TOPS for many years. Elaine was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by one son, David Mahoney of ME, and four daughters, Gail Mahoney of MA, Mary Lynne Larrick (John) CA, Maureen Mahoney of MA and Carol Mahoney of CO, three grandchildren, Michaela Modica (Jared), Bret Larrick and Connor Larrick and a great grandson, Desmond Modica.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 50 Union St., Hamilton, MA on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements by the Conway Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
