Obituary For Ellen Jean Gaudette

Ellen Jean (Champagne) Gaudette, 72, of Peabody, died peacefully Tuesday evening surrounded by her family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness.

Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Rita (Gaudreault) Champagne. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School.

Ellen was employed as a Pharmacy Technician for several years beginning at J.B Thomas Hospital and later for Lahey Beverly Hospital before retiring in 2017.

Ellen enjoyed reading and sewing and her favorite endeavor was spending time with her family, especially her seven grandchildren and sharing in all their activities. She will be dearly missed by all.

Ellen is survived by her two sons, Michael Gaudette Jr. of Wakefield and James Gaudette and his wife Renee of Peabody, her daughter, Jennifer Burkinshaw and her husband Craig of Salem, her beloved seven grandchildren, Lauren, Ella, Janelle, Matthew, and Adam Gaudette, Meagan and Allison Burkinshaw, and is also survived by her siblings, Richard and his wife Frances Champagne of Peabody and Patricia and her husband Martin Crighton of Lynn. She was predeceased by her daughter Debra Ellen Gaudette and her brother Norman Champagne.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM.at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial services will be private.

To Ellen's family, most especially her children, I extend my deepest sympathies. Your mother was a very dear friend of my mother Julie and I have so many fond memories of her from over many many years. She was an unofficial auntie to my son, and gave him a stuffed puppy that he carried everywhere and still owns today. I was so sorry to hear of her passing. She will be missed by my family. You are all in my thoughts and I am so sorry for your loss.
