Obituary For Emmanuel S Makrogiannis

Emmanuel S Makrogiannis, of Peabody, died Wednesday evening at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Eva C (Stamoulis) Makrogiannis.

Born in Samos Greece, he was the son of the late Stavros and Pagona Makrogiannis. He was raised and educated in Greece and later immigrated to the United States in 1967 and has lived in Peabody for the past 54 years.

He worked in the leather industry for many years in Salem before retiring years ago.

Emmanuel was a family-oriented person who was loved and cherished by all who knew him. He had a strong faith and was very faithful to his church, God and his family. He was hard working, always active doing something for family or friends. He loved being with his family and was loyal and supportive to his daughters and would always be in there corner. He loved cooking and taking walks on the beach, and always had a smile on his face. He was good natured about everything and was a very selfless person, always putting everyone else first. He will be dearly missed by all.

Emmanuel is survived by his two loving daughters, Pamela and Georgia Makrogiannis, both of Peabody, his siblings, Stellios, Irene and Maria, and by numerous niece, nephews, and dear friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Paleologos St. Peabody, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.

Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Facial covering and social distancing will be required for all attendees. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. Vasilios Church, 5-7 Paleologos St. Peabody, MA 01960.
