Ernest J. Galipeau, Jr, 68, of Peabody, died Wednesday January 4 at Salem Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Ernest J. Galipeau, Sr and Katherine S (Murphy) Galipeau. Ernie has lived in Peabody for the past 16 years, prior to that he lived in Lynn for 5 years.

Ernie was a veteran of the Vietnam War who served with the United States Navy for 4 years. After his discharged, he worked at various places from Autobody Shops to custodial engineer and forklift driver and retired from the Northeast Metro Vocational School in Wakefield. He was a longtime member of the Calvary Christian Church in Lynnfield and enjoyed watching old Western Movies, especially John Wayne.

Ernie is survived by his sisters, his nieces and nephews and by many dear friends at the Calvary Christian Church in Lynnfield.

Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Veteran Section at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 100 R Cedar Grove Ave, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
