Obituary For Ethel M. McDonald

Peabody – Ethel M. (Duffy) McDonald 83, beloved wife of James L. McDonald, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Twin Oaks Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Danvers.

Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late George and Edna (Rhinestein) Duffy. She was raised in the Point of Pines area of Revere and graduated from Revere High School. She continued her education at Salem State College, graduating Magna Cum Laude of her class.

Mrs. McDonald had been employed as a school teacher for many years, having taught in Somerville, MA, Michigan and Germany.

A resident of Peabody for over fifty years prior to moving to Danvers, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jeanine M. McDonald of Rockport, a son, Michael J. McDonald of Maine, four grandchildren, Emilee, Tyler, Jessica and Michael, two great grandchildren, four sisters, Edna Epsimos of Revere, Rosemary Duffy Donlin of Lynn, Patricia Gaffey of Medford and Lucille Duffy of CA, a brother, Charlie Duffy of NY and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late George Duffy.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
