Amesbury – George A. Foster Jr. 78, beloved husband of Patricia A. (Cruddas) Foster, died Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late George A. Sr., and Genevieve D. (Cummings) Foster. He was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1961. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam Era as a member of the United States Air Force.

Mr. Foster had been employed for many years as a custodian for the United States Postal Service in Peabody until the time of his retirement.

A resident of Amesbury for the past twenty five years, Mr. Foster was an avid bowler who played in a bowling league for many years and was also an avid stamp collector and member of the Stamp Club. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife with whom he shared fifty-two years of marriage, he is survived by a daughter, Ellen Chenard and her husband, Kurt of Rochester, NH, a son, Timothy Foster and his wife, Danielle of PA, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a sister, Patricia Kolsky of MA and a brother, Ralph Foster of AZ.
