Obituary For George Mantsourani

George Mantsourani, 82, a longtime resident of Peabody, died on Monday January 10, 2022, at the Lahey Medical Center in Burlington. He was born in Lesbos, Greece on February 17, 1939 the son of the late Peter Mantsourani and Mary (Pappachristou) Mantsourani Baletsa and the Step-son of Charles Baletsa of Salem . He Was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1959 and was a captain of the 1958 football team. Following his graduation, he entered the US Coast Guard and served for four years prior to his discharge. He was well known in Peabody and owned and operated Muntsy’s Sub shops with his brother Steve for several years. He is survived by his son, Peter Mantsourani of Franklin, TN, a daughter , Susan Christina Shea of Chelmsford, MA, his brothers, Steve Mantsourani and his wife Angie and Charles and his late wife Susan Mantsourani all of Peabody, a step-daughter and her husband, Tina and Nathan Tsakiris of Dover, NH, his 2 grandchildren, Megan and Alyssa Kudzma, his nieces and nephews, Steven, Michael and Lisa Mantsourani and Nicole Park, and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was the former Husband of Anita (St. Pierre) of Naples, FL and Gail (Drillis) Mantsourani of Peabody.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St, Peabody, facility. Relatives and friend are kindly invited, and facial coverings are required. A burial service will be held next spring in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
