Obituary For Gerry S Kruczkowski
Gerry “Slawko” Kruczkowski, 72, of Peabody, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, surrounded by his family and faithful companion, Simon. He was born on July 25, 1950, to Stephan and Maria Kruczkowski in Oldham, England. They emigrated to the United States when he was 7 years old, where they settled in Pawtucket, RI.
Gerry graduated from Tolman High School in 1968, and later went on to graduate from the University of Rhode Island and Roger Williams University with a Masters degree in business. He had a successful career in sales and upon retiring he worked at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School as a security monitor, which brought him great pride and joy.
In 1981 he met his wife Sandra, and they married on April 29,1984. In 1990 and 1992 respectively, they welcomed their two daughters, Lauren and Kristen, who he often described as his “biggest accomplishment.” His family was the most important part of his life.
Gerry was a devoted husband, father, uncle, friend, and most recently Grampy. The pure elation on his face when he held his first grandchild for the first time is a memory that will last forever. He enjoyed traveling, watching Boston sports on his favorite recliner, dinners with family and friends, and making everyone around him laugh with his quick wit. His laugh was infectious, and he always made everyone around him feel welcome.
Gerry is survived by his wife, Sandra Kruczkowski, daughters and son-in-law Lauren and Domenic Mahoney, and Kristen Kruczkowski, grandson, Domenic Mahoney Jr., sister and brother-in-law Julie and Edward Magner, and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
His funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
