Helen I (Godlewski) Woytowicz, 90, of Peabody, passed away on Friday February 4, 2022, at the Ledgewood Nursing Home in Beverly following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Henry John Woytowicz with whom she shared 39 years of marriage.

Born in Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Veronica (Operacz) Godlewski. She was a graduate of St. Stanislaus Polish Grammar School in Chelsea and graduated from St. Rose High School in 1948.

Helen was employed as a secretary throughout her years and first worked at University of Massachusetts and then retired from Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute in 1996.

She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Parish, Peabody, the Ladies Auxiliary Peabody PLAV and held the position of Secretary for a term. She also was a member of the Polish Club in Danvers, Peabody Senior Center, and the Peabody Historical Society as well. She and her husband spent many years traveling throughout the United States and Europe.

Helen is survived by a sister-in-law, Eileen Godlewski of Millis and her nieces and nephews, James and his wife Betty, Mark Godlewski, Allison Godlewski, and a great nephew, Charley Martin and by many family nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Walter Godlewski.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
