Obituary For Helen J. (Sedlak) Rubin

Helen J. (Sedlak) Rubin, 97, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Care One in Peabody. She was the loving wife of the late Chester Rubin with whom she shared 60 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2006.

A lifelong resident of Peabody, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Klementowicz) Sedlak. She attended Peabody Schools, and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1942.

Mrs. Rubin was a long-time member of St. Ann’s Church in Peabody. She enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, and traveling. She especially loved traveling to Nova Scotia and Idaho. Above all, she truly adored her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Helen is survived by her children, John Rubin and his wife Patricia of Nova Scotia, Pauline Fournier, wife of the late Robert Fournier of Peabody, Marcia Collado and her husband Pete of Hailey, Idaho, and Laura Connery and her husband Michael Connery of Peabody, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Arrangements: Her funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. A visiting hour will be held at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. All attendees are required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Peabody Council on Aging, 79 Central St, Peabody, MA 01960, or to a charity of one’s choice.     Dear Marcia & John, I remember fondly visiting your home and your mom. Your mom introduced me to foods different from our families - like sour cream! I also remember her showing me the wallpaper books with matching fabrics and her explaining how that all worked! Marcia I bet you don't remember!
