Obituary For Helen T (Doherty) Dullea

Helen T (Doherty) Dullea, 93, of Peabody, died Monday morning surrounded by her loving family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of William F Magner with whom she shared over 15 years of marriage. Her first marriage to Paul V. Dullea lasted 52 years until his death in 2004.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Patrick J and Ellen P.(Doherty) Doherty. Helen was an administrative assistant at the VA Hospital in Bedford for over 10 years before retiring in 1990. She enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Florida, Aruba, Italy, Panama Canal, California, and Las Vegas. She cherished time spent with her family and golf outings with her friends.

Besides her loving husband William, she is survived by her children, Paul M and his wife Catherine Dullea of Byfield, Mary D and her husband, Michael A Dewar of Norfolk, Patricia and her husband Enrique Jurado of Chino, CA, her daughters-in-law, Robin Dullea of Ft. Myers, FL and Lynn Dullea of Wilmington, her 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by William's children Diane, Jeanne, William Jr, Stephen, Joyce, and Thomas and the extended Magner family. She was predeceased by her first husband Paul V. Dullea, her sons, John and Joseph Dullea, her daughter Maureen Berkowitz and her brother John P Doherty.

Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Helen’s name to St. John’s Church or the charity of your choice.
