Obituary For Henry J McNamee
Henry J (Buzz) McNamee, 80, of Georgetown, died Christmas morning at Ashland Farm at North Andover, surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Karen A (Gillcrist) McNamee, with whom he shared over 54 years of marriage.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Henry J and Ellen (McCarthy) McNamee. He was raised and educated in Charlestown, lived and was an active part of the community in Peabody for 47 years, and has lived in Georgetown for the past three years.
Buzz was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served with the United States Air Force for four years with his honorable discharge in 1964. Following his discharge from the military, Buzz embarked on a 42-year career as a Sales Rep for RIS Paper. Following his retirement from the paper industry, he worked as a starter at The Meadow golf course in Peabody for an additional 12 years.
In addition to his loving wife Karen, Buzz is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Jill McNamee of Windham, NH, his two daughters and son-in-law, Colleen F White of Georgetown and Erin and Eric Houlihan of Tewksbury, his brother, John and his wife Marie McNamee of Tewksbury, his sisters, Margaret Loftin of Tewksbury and Eileen Nye of Everett, his beloved five grandchildren, Kylie and Connor White, and Emily, Chloe, and Ryan McNamee, and is also survived several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Griffis.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 8:30 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Lynn St, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
