Obituary For Irene G. Piotrowicz

Peabody – Irene G. (Lachowicz) Piotrowicz 97, beloved wife of the late Mitchell L. Piotrowicz with whom she shared forty years of marriage, died Monday, September 20, 2021 at Sunrise at Gardner Park in Peabody.

Born and raised in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Feliksa (Drobniuk) Lachowicz. She received her education in the Peabody school system and graduated from Peabody High School, class of 1941 where she was the recipient of the George Peabody Medal for Highest Honors in Scholarship.

As a young woman, Mrs. Piotrowicz had been employed at the Peabody Cooperative Bank. Following her marriage, she dedicated her life to raising her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Philip E. Piotrowicz and his wife, Karen of Kirkland, WA, two daughters, Constance A. Vanne and her husband, Douglas of Beverly and Patricia E. Blake and her husband, David of Francestown, NH, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Jennie and Sophie and brother, Stanley.

Irene’s family wish to thank the staff at Sunrise at Gardner Park and Care Dimensions for their outstanding care of Irene over the past years.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Friday, September 24, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
