Ivone M. Silva, 57, of Salem, MA, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the devoted wife of John M. Silva of Salem, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage. Born on April 30, 1965 in Faial Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of Tina (Goulart) Vargas and the late Joseph L. Vargas. Ivone emigrated from Portugal with her parents when she was just 2 years old. She was raised in Salem, where she graduated from Salem High School Class of 1983. Ivone was employed at Luso-American Credit Union in Peabody where she has worked for the last 31 years. She started as a teller, moved up to become the mortgage specialist, then manager, and finally the Chief Executive Officer. In her spare time Ivone enjoyed woodworking. Her kids nicknamed her "Mom the Builder". She also enjoyed spending time by her pool where she loved to read. Ivone loved animals, especially dogs, and had many pets throughout the years. Her favorite pet was her late dog Beasley. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and friends. Ivone always had a smile on her face and could always make someone laugh. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Kyle J. Silva of Salem, and her daughter Tiffany E. Silva and her husband Raymond Brackett IV of Lynn. She also leaves behind her beloved mother, Tina Vargas of Salem, and mother-in-law Maria Silva of Peabody. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She was very close with her godchild Alyce Prado of Hamilton and her cousin Brenda Terra of Salem who was more like a sister to her. She also leaves behind her cherished granddog Winter and many friends. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours from 10AM – 12PM, Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at The Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody, MA 01960. A funeral service will be held the same day at the funeral home at 12:00 PM immediately following visitation.
