Obituary For James G. Baron
Peabody – James G. Baron 90, beloved husband of Maureen E. (Mellyn) Baron of Peabody and the late Helen (McDonough) Baron, died Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge.
Born in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late John P. and Emma (Martov) Baron. He was raised in Ashtabula, OH and graduated from Ashtabula High School. He continued his education at Boston College, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Air Force.
Mr. Baron had been employed for many years as a systems analyst for the RCA Company in Burlington until the time of his retirement. A longtime resident of Peabody, he was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Peabody where he had served as a Eucharistic Minister for twenty-five years. He also enjoyed playing golf whenever he could. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife Maureen, with whom he shared thirty three years of marriage, he is survived by two daughters, Anne Aharonian and her husband, John of Cumberland, RI and Mary Nelson and her husband, Marv of La Canada, CA, a son, John Baron of Peabody, a step-son, Steve Seckar and his wife, Ellen of The Villages, FL, six grandchildren, Michelle Viola, Christine Moulton, Daniel Aharonian, Kevin Nelson, Andrew Nelson and Jenna Seckar, two great-grandsons, Gregory and Anthony Viola and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Louise Cusman, John, Thomas and Kenneth Baron.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody, Friday, January 27, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn.
