Obituary For James M. Dumas

Peabody – James M. Dumas 64, beloved husband of Patti (Tracchia) Dumas, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Salem Hospital.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Paul and Barbara (Quinlan) Dumas. He was raised in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1976. He continued his education earning a degree in Architectural Engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.

An avid golfer, he was a member of the Meadow Golf Course in Peabody where he ran the “Fighting Irish” golf league for many years. When not on the golf course, you could find Jim watching the bruins with a cold one alongside his lifelong friends, Billy Desmond and Derek McCarthy.

I worked with Jim at Salem Hospital and have known him for many years. Although we never saw each other outside of work, we did have many great conversations. He had many great stories and experiences that he shared with me and I with him. He LOVED to laugh and man, could he be funny. My condolences to his family and friends as I only got a taste of what a quality guy this human being was and forever will be. Forever in your hearts. John Powers
