James S “Jay” Novick, 51, of Berlin, NH and formerly of Peabody, died Tuesday February 28, in New Hampshire as results of injuries sustained in car accident that day.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late William F and Linda A (Pyburn) Novick. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody Veteran’s High School, class 1990. He was lived In Berlin, NH for the past 5 months.
Jay was a pipe and ship fitter who worked at the Portsmouth Naval Yard for several years and was recently working for the DOT in Gorham, NH as a snowplow driver.

Jay was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and scuba diving as well. He was also a member of the NRA.

Jay is survived by his son, James S. Novick, Jr and his daughter, Ashley Novick, both of Hudson, NH, his brothers, Michael Novick of Peabody and Bill Novick of Merrimack, MA, his sister, Lauren Novick of Peabody, his cousin, Wally and his wife Claire Novick of Peabody, his fiancé Jessica Leeman and her children, Damyan, Jadyne, Ava Grace, and Dimitri and their pets. He was the former husband of Christine (Page) Novick.

A private family service was held on Tuesday with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
