Obituary For Jamie M. Bent
Jamie Michael Bent, of Salem Ma, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022. He was only 34 years old. Jamie was born on June 6, 1988, in Salem Ma. He attended both Peabody and Salem public schools and lived with his mother and brother Jeremy in Salem Ma for 23 years. After obtaining his diploma, he attended welding school. Jamie was employed in several fields throughout his short life including carpentry, masonry, landscaping, waste management and at Sylvania, but his dream was to be an auto mechanic, as a kid he had the opportunity to help to rebuild an engine and he was hooked.
Jamie had interests in science, history, astronomy, he loved to read books and learn new things, he especially loved Stephen Hawking books. He loves to talk about space, planets and black holes and could teach you a good lesson on world history. He loved to draw and was a good artist. He loved to cook, always experimenting to make his own unique dishes. Jamie loved the outdoors, his favorite thing in the world was fishing, whether saltwater or fly fishing a stream, he went every opportunity he could. He also enjoyed hunting and was a good marksman. He loved being out in nature.
Jamie was very outgoing and would make friends everywhere he went. He was protective of his family and anyone he befriended; he would stand up to an army to protect them. He was a kindhearted young man and would volunteer to help feed the homeless on the holidays and had befriended many of all ages that were homeless, He did what he could, giving food, clothes, money and friendship, he would sit and listen to their life stories. Jamie had been known to sneak In a few people in the house to eat, shower and sleep. He had also helped organize and run a youth group at a local church to help troubled youth stay off drugs.
He was well liked and loved by all and will leave a lasting impression in the hearts of all that knew him.
Jamie was the loving son of his mother Liane M Bent, her fiancé Arthur Beaulieu and his brother Jeremy M Bent of Salem Ma. He is also survived by his father Michael R Bent and half-brother Mathew bent of NH, his grandparents Anne and Thomas Kidwell of Georgetown Ma and William and Nancy Singleton of Seabrook NH, aunts Cynthia Atkins of WA and Lisa and Kelly Singleton of Salem Ma, Uncle Howard Bent of Salem Ma, cousins Alishaa Beaulieu of Salem Ma and Krysta Buttner of NH along with other extended family.
Jamie is joined in heaven with family whom loved him dearly and will look after him for eternity, his late (grandpa butterscotch)Edward Young whom he looked up to, his late greatgrandparents Wasyl and (Baba) Krystyna Kozak whom fed him well weekly, and his late granduncle Wasyl Kozak who always gave and taught him about coins and gemstones.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours, Friday, December 30, 2022, from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at The Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody, MA 01960. A funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel. Burial is private.
