Jennie L. Buontempo, 92, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2022, at the Jeffrey & Susan Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert W. Buontempo with whom she shared 65 years of marriage prior to his passing in March of 2018.

Born in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Josephine (Napolitano) Zuffante. Mrs. Buontempo was raised and educated in Boston, and she was a graduate of East Boston High School.

Jennie worked in Saugus School System's Cafeteria Department for many years, until the time of her retirement.

Jennie enjoyed bingo and loved taking trips to Foxwoods with her late husband. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving her are her children, Robert W. Buontempo Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Gilmanton, NH., David L. Buontempo of Melbourne, FL., Debra A. Surette of Peabody, and Patricia G. Verrengia and her husband, Benjamin of Derry, NH.; her grandchildren, Jessica Oxley, Nicole Surette, Joseph P. Surette and his wife, Erica, Robbie Buontempo, Brandi Davan and her spouse, Ashley, and Benny Verrengia; and her great grandchildren, Ryan J. Surette, Alexis H. Surette, Jackson Davan and Kayla Oxley. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter in law, Barbara Buontempo; and her son in law, Joseph M. Surette.

At the request of the family, services for Jennie will be held privately.
