Obituary For Joan L. Walker

Peabody – Joan L. (Bradley) Walker 88, beloved wife of the late George A. Walker, died Sunday, April 30, 2023 at home surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Laurance and Mathilda (Pollard) Bradley. She received her education in the Peabody school system and graduated from Peabody High School, class of 1953.

Mrs. Walker had been employed for many years as a medical secretary having worked at both Lynn Hospital and Salem Hospital, until the time of her retirement.

A lifelong resident of Peabody, she was a member of the Peabody VFW Auxiliary Post 1011, the DAV and was active at the Peabody Senior Center. A longtime resident at the Penelope Apartments on Central Street in Peabody, she was active in taking care of the building’s library and ran many events for the residents over the years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving her are three daughters, Gayle A. MacDonald and her husband, Brian of Topsfield, Diane Walker of Derry, NH and Nancy Walker of Danvers, one son, Michael Walker of Peabody, six grandchildren, Michelle LoIacono and her husband, Giuseppe, Sherrie Muise and her partner, Phillip David, Aimee Velazquez and her husband, Luis, Adam MacDonald, Ryan MacDonald, Nathan Walker and the late Daniel Walker, eight great grandchildren, three brothers, Donald Bradley and his wife, Marge of NH, Daniel Bradley and his wife, Frances of West Tisbury and Paul Bradley of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Laurance Bradley Jr. and Raymond Bradley.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held graveside, at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, 100R Cedar Grove Ave., Peabody, Friday, May 12, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements by the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
