Obituary For John J. "Jack" Luz

John J. “Jack” Luz, 88, of Amesbury. MA and formerly of Peabody, MA, died peacefully at his residence on Monday August 22, 2022. He was born in Boston, MA the son of the late Peabody Police chief John F. Luz and Mary (Paltonovich) Luz and was raised in Peabody before moving to Amesbury.

Jack was a graduate of Northeastern University and had been an Vice President with Honeywell Industries and later at Data General and then at PictureTel prior to his retirement. John had served in the US Army in 1956 and was stationed in Germany as a helicopter electrician until his Honorable Discharge in 1958.

He is survived by his 4 sons, John G. Luz of San Diego, CAL. Christopher P. Luz of Florida, and Thomas J. and Martin j. Luz, A brother, Matthew Luz , his two sisters, Ellen Ramil and Beth Clow, three grandchildren, Helen, Julia and Timothy Luz and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary Ann Kiley and the former husband of Bridget (Gately) Luz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August , 30, 2022 at 10 AM at St John the Baptist Church, 17 Church St., Peabody. Streaming is available using St John’s Website, stjohnspeabody,org. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to charity of your choice in his memory.
