I did AARP tax preparation under John's lead at the Danvers Senior Center for many years. When he assumed the position of Tax-Aide District Director for Essex County, responsible for about 30 tax-preparation sites, I led 3 of those sites. He was a knowledgeable leader and 'tax-man', respected by his tax volunteers and especially his clients, who invariably wanted John to do their tax return. He quietly put in more volunteer hours than anyone, always with a great sense of humor. It was a pleasure working with him. I will miss him.

John was a fine man. I knew him through the AARP TaxAide program. He was kind, dedicated, and easy going... just what we all needed. He'll be remembered and missed.

I knew John over a period of about ten years through the tax program for which he volunteered. He was such a "gentle" man, dedicated to helping taxpayers, wonderful to work with and highly motivated to do his job well. It was a pleasure to know him. Please accept my sincere sympathy.
