John M “Jack” Cashman, Jr, 68, of Methuen and formerly of Lynn, died Wednesday August 30 at Beverly Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late John M Cashman, Sr and Evelyn (Donahue) Cashman. He was raised and educated in Lynn and has spent the last few years living in Methuen.

Following high school, Jack attended Northeastern University and received his Criminal Justice Degree and began his long career as a security guard first at Endicott College and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum before retiring years ago.

Jack is survived by his niece Allison Battis and nephew Mark McLaughlin, both of New Hampshire and by several cousins and dear friends. Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his sister, Carol McLaughlin.

Following cremation, Jack’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday September 8, 2023, at 10:30 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family request you take a friend to lunch.
