Obituary For Kathleen H Ellis

The family of Kathleen H (Farrell) Ellis is saddened to announce her unexpected passing on Thursday October 14. Kathleen was the loving and adored wife of Kenneth M. Ellis of Peabody.

She was born in Lynn, the middle of three daughters to the late Bob and Dora (Mahan) Farrell. She lived most of her life in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School, class of 1970. Following graduation, she worked for New England Telephone/ NYNEX as a dispatcher where she made many lifelong friends.

Kathleen was full of fun and laughter. She always took in the beauty found in nature around her. She loved to shop, decorate, dine out, grow beautiful flowers and plants, and was a wonderful cook, hosting many memorable family celebrations. She and Kenny enjoyed traveling, especially to the warm tropical destinations of Bermuda, Aruba, and Florida, eventually finding a second home in Sarasota.

Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Kenneth, her sisters and best friends, Maureen Blomberg of Sarasota, FL, and Patricia Cronin and her husband Neil of Peabody. She also leaves her mother-in-law, Orlo Ellis of Peabody and all of her extended Ellis family, who loved her, and will miss her dearly, including Elaine and John Marshall, Marianne and Donald Onusseit, Michael and Patti Ellis, Larry Ellis and Erica Khan. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews, Rob Blomberg and his partner Stu Yates, Mike and his wife Stephanie Blomberg, Stephanie and Steve Stepanian, Daniel and his wife Caitlin Cronin and their son Jack, Brian and his wife Elayne Cronin and their children, Sharon and Desmond, Molly and her husband Ryan DeLosa, Heather Griswold and her partner Jake Gilbert, Julie and her husband John Hinchion and their children, Cedrick, Leroy, and Celia, Laura Onusseit, David and his wife Tiffany Onusseit, and their children, Lexi and Jemma, Nicole Ellis and Mike Robinson. They all brought her great joy. She also leaves many cousins and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Bruce Blomberg, and Donald Ellis.

Her quick wit, charm, smile, and pure love of life will be missed, but remembered by all who knew her. Kathleen’s funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy can be made in her name to the MGH/North Shore Cancer Center, 102 Endicott St, Danvers, MA 01923.
