Leona J. Hamilton, 74, of Salem, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 17, 2023. She was born in Peabody, MA on May 16, 1949, and was the cherished daughter of the late Sonia (Micalchuk) and Raymond G. Hamilton Sr.

A real puzzle master there was no puzzle Leona could not complete. She loved watching game shows and sitcoms from the 70s while crocheting, painting, or drawing one of her masterpieces. Leona loved nothing more than spending time with her family, including meaningful dinners on Sunday at her mother Sonia’s home and more recently at the Century House with her brother Reggie and his wife Barbara. She also enjoyed late nights playing bingo with her cousins Carol and Mary, buying costume jewelry and hats at Kohl’s with her late Aunt Lydia and many phone calls and house visits from her sister Nadine. News from her nephews John, Sean, and Michael of new additions brought more joy to Leona as she could add more pictures to her mantle. Leona was a staple on Cauldron Court and loved by her caring neighbors. She also enjoyed making friends at Element Care in Beverly.

Leona is survived by her brother, Raymond “Reggie” Hamilton Jr and his wife Barbara of Salem; her sister, Nadine Hamilton of Peabody; her nephews, John Bollettiero and his wife Caroline of Danvers and Michael Bollettiero and his wife Denise of Salem; her great nieces and nephews, Leo, Raia and Lydia Bollettiero and SeanAdam Baskett; her special cousins, Carol and Mary Micalchuck; and many additional loving cousins, aunts and uncles.

In addition to her parents, Sonia and Raymond G. Hamilton Sr., Leona was predeceased by her loving aunts Lydia Szaban and Helen Brown and her nephew Sean Baskett.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 9AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by her Funeral Service in the funeral home at 10AM. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4PM to 7PM with a prayer service beginning at 6PM. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody, MA.
