Malcolm K. MacGregor, 94, of Peabody, MA, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 26, 2022. He was the devoted husband of the late Edith (Stevenson) MacGregor. Malcolm was born, in Lynn, MA, March 15, 1928, the son of the late, Charles G. and Jeanette (Pottinger) MacGregor. He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. He would later further his education by graduating from Salem State University in 1989, with a Bachelor of Science degree. Malcolm dedicated much of his time and career to the preservation of nature and the environment. He was employed for several years as an Arborist and Tree Surgeon. Malcolm worked at Pine Manor Junior College, the town of Danvers and later was employed with Salem Hospital where he retired after 10 years. He loved the outdoors and going for walks. Malcolm was an avid hiker and was a member of the “Appalachian Mountain Club”. He also enjoyed the lifelong hobby of caring for tropical fish. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Malcolm is survived by his two daughters, Kathleen Smales and her husband, Thomas and Jeanette Franchio and husband, David and son, Charles and wife, Patti. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Rob and Ariana Smales, Daniel MacGregor, John Franchio, Jenni Leuthauser and Thomas and Samuel MacGregor. Malcolm will also be remembered by four great-grandchildren, Thomas, Ava, Evie and Ellie, and countless dear friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Edith, sister, Jean and great-grandchild, Charlie MacGregor. Services are private.
