Obituary For Margaret P. Sharry
Peabody – Margaret (Post) Sharry 94, beloved wife of Augustine F. Sharry Jr., died Monday, June 6, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Culloden, Nova Scotia, Canada, she grew up in Gloucester Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Captain Stephen and Mary (Sweeney) Post. A graduate of Emmanuel College, Margaret was employed as an administrative assistant for Godfrey Cabot Company in Boston prior to her marriage. She dedicated most of her life to raising her family, living her life in service of others. A longtime resident of Peabody and a woman of faith, she was a parishioner of St. Adelaide’s Church where she was a religious education master teacher for many years. She also taught religious education at St. Cecelia Parish in Boston. She was an avid gardener, baker, and reader. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband with whom she shared sixty-eight years of marriage, she is survived by six daughters, Mary Smith and her husband, James of Beverly, Christine Sharry and her husband, Dean DeHaven of Salem, Margaret Tenczar and her husband, Michael of Andover, Kathleen Sharry of Peabody Tracey Gilpin of Marlborough and Rosemary Wilhelm and her husband, Xavier of Revere, two sons, Augustine F. Sharry III and his wife, Susan of Park City, UT and Stephen Sharry of Peabody, seven grandchildren, Mary “Mimi” Smith, James Smith, Austin Sharry, Jake Sharry, Francis Gilpin, Paul Gilpin and Nicholas Tenczar, a great grandson, Marcus Sharry and a sister, Sheila Dickson of Needham. ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody, Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visiting hour will be held at the church on Thursday morning prior to the Mass from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Arrangements by the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Catholic Charities, 13 Pulaski St, Peabody, MA 01960.
