Obituary For Maria De Jesus (Rebelo) Pereira

Peabody- Maria De Jesus (Rebelo) Pereira, 69, beloved wife of Antonio Jose Pereira, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Vila Franca do Campo, Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Nicolau) Rebelo. Maria was raised and educated in Portugal until emigrating to the United States in 1975.

Maria was a hardworking and dedicated employee of Thermal Circuits for over 20 years until her retirement.

Maria was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody and a member of the Holy Ghost Society.

Maria truly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She especially adored her grandchildren. She was always known as the life of the party and will be remembered for her bright spirit. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Nelson Pereira and his wife, Samantha of Peabody, and David Pereira and his companion, Amanda Mulherin of Peabody; her grandchildren, Antonio “AJ”, Nevaeh, David Jr., Gabriel, and Christiana Pereira; her brother, Mario Jorge Rebelo; her sisters, Maria Fatima Bolharino, and Maria Manuela Benevides; and several nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by her brother, Joao Miguel Rebelo.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 4-8P.M. at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 9A.M. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
