Obituary For Marie E. Kachinski

Marie Elizabeth Kachinski, 92, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2023, in her sleep after a brief illness at Beverly Hospital. A resident of Peabody, Marie lived her entire life at her family home in South Peabody. She made lifelong friends from her time at Brown Elementary School and also greatly enjoyed serving on the reunion committees for her Peabody High School Class of 1948, where she graduated fourth in her class. After high school, she studied Radio-Dramatic at the Katherine Dell School in Boston before entering the workforce. Marie worked her way to the top of a male-dominated field in the 1960s, breaking glass ceilings, and becoming a Vice President at the Boston-based advertising firm Arnold and Company, Inc. Her most notable campaigns included McDonalds and Fayva Shoes. Although a trailblazer in her professional life, in her free time she always enjoyed spending time with her family and hosting holidays and gatherings in her home. In her retirement, Marie enjoyed traveling the world and bringing back souvenirs to those closest to her, as well as the increased time she could spend with her siblings, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews. She was an avid visitor to the local library, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and frequently went to the North Shore Music Theater. Marie also loved her Lithuanian heritage and greeting people with “Labas” (Hello). She would regularly attend the Lithuanian Picnic in Putnam, Connecticut each year. Marie leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law William and Patricia Kachinski, her nephew and niece-in-law Kenneth and Joyce Kachinski, her niece and nephew-in-law Karyn and Steve Kelley, her nephew J.R. Kachinski and his fiancee Nancy Sherman and nephew Andrew Kachinski and her niece-in-law Michelle Kachinski. Known affectionately as Auntie Re to many, she also leaves behind several grand and great grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anna Kachinski, her brother Ronald Kachinski and her nephew Joseph Kachinski. She was also predeceased by cousins Jeronimas and Elena Kacinskas. Marie’s family would like to thank the staff at Hathorne Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care that Marie received over the past 2 years. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at The Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St Peabody, MA 01960. I remember doing Halloween and it was Marie and mother Anna, passing out Kool-Aid to us kids. She's a wonderful neighbor.
